1997 Well Remembered
A great night of celebration as the exploits of 1997 were relived on Saturday night with many of the players and managers from the winning teams present. Our most successful year ever was well remembered by the participants including players from the success hurling team, minor double winning players and managers Sean Mulligan and Kieran Brennan along with senior double managers Sean Hughes and Brendan Magennis with the whole year overseen by Club Chairman Peter McKenna and Club Secretary Frank McManus who were also present. The 25 years have passed by quickly with thankfully many trophies since but it’s good to remember one of the glory years. Well done to all involved.
A number of presentations were made on the night including Players of the Year. Francis Hughes was a worthy recipient of the Kieran Claffey Senior Player of the Year Award, Aaron Carey received the James & Michael Hughes Reserve Player award while Darren McMahon was given the Jim Woods Young Player Award. Congratulations and well done to these players which recognises their contribution during the past year. Two special presentations were made to outgoing executive committee members Margaret Walsh who completed seven years as Club Registrar and Eleanor Sullivan who served as Children’s Officer for the past four years. Thanks ladies for your work.
Juvenile Officer Of The Year
Congratulations to John Paul on very deservedly being named as Juvenile Official of the Year at county convention. The presentation will be in the New Year.
Huge congratulations to all involved in the recent Crocus fundraiser after which we were named 2022 Crocus Men’s Den Fundraising Champions for our fantastic fundraising efforts. Many thanks to Denise Brennan for spearheading the campaign, to all her helpers and to all who took part and gathered sponsorship.
