Castleblayney Faugh’s notes week beginning 19/12/2022

Message from our Chairman and Club Executive: We would like to wish all involved with the club - volunteers, coaches, supporters, players, sponsors and our fans both home and abroad a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We would also like to thank you all for the continued and unwavering support all year. We are excited for the next season in the New Year. Stay safe, Nollaig shona duit.

Congratulations: Well done to Padraig McBennett who has picked up the Volunteer of the Year Award at the recent County Board Awards Night.  Unfortunately, Butsy was unable to attend in person but hopefully he will receive his award in person in the not-too-distant future.  As everyone knows it takes a lot of work to keep things running smoothly with a football team.  Padraig McBennett is the man that does that for Castleblayney Faugh’s.  If a job needs doing at training whether its sorting out the balls, finding bibs, organizing the games, getting the food or simply just being on-hand, Padraig aka “Butsy” is the man for that job.  There is nothing too big or too small that Butsy won’t take on with.

A real man behind the scenes Butsy will always be the first one to start clearing up in dressings rooms and he has a great knack of whipping out the black bin bags to clear up the water bottles at away games.

When not playing in goals and in need of an extra player to make up a team Butsy can always be relied upon to help and gives great encouragement to the lads playing out in front of him and around him.

Good man Padraig – your dedication does not go un-noticed!
