November 16th, 2022

AGM:  The Annual General Meeting was held on Monday last 11th November at 7:30pm with a healthy turnout. The outgoing committee were thanked for the work they had done over the past year and reports were given by, the Secretary, Treasurer, Youth Officer, PRO and Chairperson.
A minute’s silence was held to remember those who passed over the last twelve months, many family members, friends, relatives, neighbours and former players of the club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.
The Club would like to thank all those who attended the AGM and for their support of the outgoing committee and the support shown to the newly elected committee. The meeting acknowledged the hard work and effort that was evident throughout the year by so many within the community and Club volunteers. Many jobs were undertaken again this year and without the help from our volunteers this would not be possible. Some of these included, team management, field development works, New York raffle, vegetation clearance, grant applications, cleaning, serving, announcing, social media, ticket sellers, players, singing of the anthem, scoreboard, umpires, mentors, coaches, working in the shop, turnstile operators, all those who assisted with the very successful golf classic, astro turf facility, juveniles, safety works, sponsor a match ball, maintenance repairs, club and event sponsors, food for players to name but a few. The Club thanked our referees for the representation and the hard job they do in the name of the Club.
The Club and our members were afforded another great year of football, following the Club about the county, so a special thanks to the team, management and their families on giving us another great year of football. The step-up to intermediate football was very evident and things got off to a slightly rock start with the league, after winning our first match it was all uphill from that point, with injuries and players unavailable. However, despite this, we managed to avoid relegation through the league. The Championship came and for the first time all year we had most players available and played some great matches, Toome finished top of their group and went straight to a semi-final against Corduff, following a month off with no competitive match. We were very unfortunate on the day and really were unluck not to find ourselves in the Intermediate Championship final, the lads really gave it their all and done us all proud on the day. The Club gained a lot of respect that day and it is fair to say we proved to everyone beyond doubt that we deserve our place in intermediate football.
Toome entered an amalgamated U19 team along with Corduff this year with most of the lads from the previous year’s success coming together again. They were entered in Division 1 and played some outstanding football along the way against some very tough teams. This was a great learning curve for these young men and they all took a lot away from this experience.
The minors again amalgamated with Corduff and despite relying on a number of U15 players to field they gave a great account of themselves, losing out marginally in a tough league semi-final to a strong Aghabog team that deserved their win.
We had 2 U15 players on loan with Corduff, playing in Division 1 and they were very unluck losing a league final and had a couple of unluck games in the championship, both lads enjoyed their year and were deserving of Division 1 football.
Congratulations were extended to Kevin McCabe, who was acknowledged post meeting for the volunteer achievement award.
The Club would like to thank all who supported the Club in any capacity, donations, sponsorships, tickets bought and the generosity throughout the year experienced was truly overwhelming, we are a special people and have shown that if we all pull in the same direction there is very little that cannot be achieved. We look forward to the next twelve months, a promising 2023 in the intermediate ranks and to see all our family, friends, relatives, neighbours, members and players back in St Victors Park again to support the lads.
