Emyvale LGFC are thrilled today to receive the news that Brenda McAnespie will be officially inducted into the Ladies Gaelic Football Association’s Hall of Fame! The two-time All-Ireland Senior Championship winner for Monaghan in 1996 and 1997, Brenda was also instrumental four years earlier in 1992, when bringing the
Monaghan County team their very first All-Ireland Junior title. Playing football from a young age, Brenda initially played with the Monaghan Harps Ladies club but later moved to Emyvale. She is a three-time All Star recipient in 1996, 1997 and 1999 and retired from the intercounty scene in mid 2000. However, she continued playing club football for Emyvale Ladies right up until recent years where she would line out alongside her daughters, Aoife, Ciara, Shauna, Eimear and Aisling. Amongst Brenda’s club success was a 2008 All-Ireland Intermediate club title, an appearance in the 2006 All-Ireland Junior Club Final along with success for Emyvale at the All-Ireland Club 7s National Finals. Once her time on the playing field came to an end, Brenda continued to support our club at committee level and has most recently been involved with our Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others Group. Brenda will be officially inducted into the LGFA Hall of Fame at the TG4 All Star awards night, in association with Lidl, on Saturday 19th November 2022. On behalf of the Emyvale Ladies Club we extend a huge congratulations to Brenda on this wonderful occasion – it is an accolade that is richly deserved in recognition of your talent and skills as one of the best footballers our country has ever seen. Comhghairdeas ollmhór Brenda – Táimid go léir an-bhródúil asat. 🏁 https://ladiesgaelic.ie/monaghans-brenda-mcanespie-to-be-inducted-into-the-ladies-gaelic-football-associations-hall-of-fame/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CkqpkQlDI2J/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
