Corduff Gaels March On In Ulster:
Corduff Gaels, the Monaghan Intermediate Double winners registered a huge win over Saval last Sunday in the Ulster Gaa Club Championship in Inniskeen.
The quarter final encounter in Inniskeen between Corduff and the Down champions Saval could only be described as tempestuous from the word go. It was Saval that registered the first score of the game which would be their only score of the 1st half. As Saval became embroiled in negative play from the throw-in a number of red cards were issued and by half time both sides were down to 14 players plus Seamus had also received a card.  It was Corduff that controlled the scoreboard in the first half and went in with a comfortable lead of 1-5 to 0-1 at the interval.
At the restart Saval were further reduced to 13 players. Saval, as in the first half registered the first score of the half but once again it was Corduff that kept the score board ticking over. More red cards were issued with Saval down to 12 and Corduff down to 13 but it was Corduff that eased to victory on a final score of 2-10 to 0-5 to the sheer delight of the Corduff supporters.
This win has secured an Ulster Intermediate Club semi-final meeting with the Cavan Champions Castlerahan.
