Corduff Gaels:
U15 Division 5B Championship:
For the second time this season Corduff Division 5B U15 team reached a final Corduff which was a super achievement. Last Saturday they played Truagh in the Bogue Foodhall U15 Final in Aghabog. The game threw-in in very wet conditions which made playing conditions difficult. It was Truagh that got off to the better start and were dominant for the first half. However Corduff made a super comeback in the second half but it was Truagh that were winners by the final whistle. Massive thanks to coacher Darren, Adrian and Gerry on their hard work and commitment during the year steering this great group of players to 2 finals. The ;panel was as follows: Óran Farrelly, Matthew Dearey, Oisin Mee, Macara Crossan, Jamie Martin, Jack King, Jessie Crossan, Finlay McKeown ( JC ), Conor McCluskey, Conor Hand, Jack Marron ( JC ), Owen Hand, Nathan McGarrell, Lewis McGivney, Harry McCabe, Dillon Conlon, Cillian McArdle, Shane Hand, Noel Murtagh, Donnacha Kennedy, David Corrigan and Ben Murnaghan.
Corduff Ladies: U12 League Final
Corduff Ladies U12 team reached the League final against Monaghan Harps which was played last Sunday in Tyholland. This team has played super football all season and Sunday was no exception as this was an excellent game of football from end to end by both teams. The halftime score was only 0-2 to 0-1 to Monaghan Harps. Such a low score is testament to the effort made by both teams. Even though the middle period doesn’t count on the scoreboard it certainly counted on the field of play. The 2nd half proved to be another very tight contest between the sides as the game ebbed and flowed. Monaghan Harps did extend their lead in the second half but once again the Corduff Ladies narrowed the margin but it was Monaghan Harps that proved stronger by the final whistle. Although defeated the Corduff girls can hold their heads high and massive thanks to their mentors Sinéad, Eva, Courtney, Paul and Darin for their commitment and dedication during the season. The panel was as follows: Ella Jane McKeon, Sophie Connolly ( JC ), Anna Monaghan, Stacey McEntee, Elaina Hand, Aoife Mee, Áine Byrne, Emma Dearey, Abbie Callan, Amy Hanratty ( JC ), Ella Marron, Cerys, Mya Mai, Ellie King, Kathryn Barker, Lily Marron, Chloe Culleton, Sophie Gardiner, Katie Mullen, Arwen O’Neill, Colleen Hand, Caithlin Connolly, Eimear Chorchel and Gabriella Gomez.
Corduff Ladies would like to extend a massive thank you to Dermot Hand and Gareth King on sponsoring a super set of jerseys which they presented to the teams and mentors last Friday in preparation for the final.
