Castleblayney Faugh’s notes week beginning 17/10/2022 

Senior Ladies: The Faughs Ladies hosted a cake sale in the Scout Hall last Sunday and it proved to be a resounding success, thanks to the great effort the Ladies put in and the excellent support received from everyone who donated spot prizes, baked and to those who came and sampled the gorgeous food on offer. 

This Saturday the Faugh’s Ladies travel to Fermanagh to take on Lisnaskea Emmets team who had a convincing win in their preliminary game last weekend. The game throws in at 2pm. Tickets must be purchased before hand on www.myticketapp.co.uk Best of luck girls. 

Juveniles: We are launching our u6 winter program this Thursday evening with a fun and games evening in GR8 5.30pm to 6.30pm.  Open to all boys and girls 4 to 6 years old (Born 2016, 2017, and 2018) Contact Damien on +353876138152 for further information. 

Faugh’s 5k Run: The annual McMahon’s 5k run takes place on 27th November at 1pm for the u14 race and 2pm for everyone else. Pre-registration €15, registration on the day €20. Register today at: www.myrunresults.com 

AGM: Club AGM has been fixed for Friday 18th November, 7.30pm in Iontas.  This is your opportunity to find out how the club overall is performing and a chance for you to ask questions and provide ideas to help bring the club forward.  Nomination & motion forms are available from the club secretary Philip, 087 920 1381, secretary.castleblayney.monaghan@gaa.ie and will be available for download from the club website, www.castleblayneyfaughs.com, in the next few days. 

Lotto: Lotto results Jackpot €3,600 wasn’t won, the numbers were 02, 09, 19, and 27. Next week’s jackpot is €3,700. The 4 lucky dips are Geraldine Carragher, Pat Conlon, Denis O’Leary, and The Marron Family the Crescent. 

 

The club is looking at increasing lotto sales both online and through lotto ticket distribution.  If anyone can help or knows of anybody that might be interested in selling lotto tickets around the housing estates at the weekend, contact any committee member. 

 

Bingo: Bingo continues every Wednesday night at Our Lady’s Concert Hall, jackpot is €2200, winner takes all played at game 8 and double your money at game 10 and high low game played after game 8. Lots of chances to win lots of money. 

 

Thank you: The club would like to thank Monaghan Council for the €1000 grant received towards a new defibrillator and case at St Marys Park. 

Walking track: The lights for the walking track have been officially switched on this week and will be lit from 5-9pm every day. This is open to anyone in the community who wishes to use the walking track amenity. Please note dogs are not permitted on the grounds. 

Culture: Anyone interested in singing National Anthem before matches contact 0860792195.

New Walking Track: Our new walking track is currently under construction and we hope to have it fully operational for the launch of operation transfaughmation, this will bring the total distance of both tracks to approximately 1.2km, of which all will be completely illuminated at night. 

Advertising: As we approach the latter stages of championship,  St Marys Park will be hosting some high profile championship games. There are a number of slots still available for signage around the field. For further information please contact any committee member. 

 

Volunteer: Our various committees are already busy working hard for next season. Anyone interested in helping out as a volunteer or as a coach please contact any committee member, we would love to have you on board.
