Juveniles:

Under 17s: Our Under 17s beat Killanny in the Semi Final of the Division 2 Championship on Sunday afternoon last on a scoreline of 3-07 to 0-10. In a repeat pairing of the Shield final earlier in the year, it was clear from the beginning that the Aughnamullen boys were up for the battle and their hunger showed in the early stages, with a Callum Hughes free kick followed by an exceptional brace of goals from Bobby McCaul to give us an early foothold on the game. The visitors soon grew into the game, and a Caolan Daly point was our only score in almost 20 minutes where Killanny closed the gap to three points. A penalty which was well won by Bobby McCaul followed, who could only settle for a point from a save from the goalkeeper to tip it over the bar. A score from Shane Geoghegan late in the half followed by a Killanny reply left three between the sides at the break with a scoreline of 2-04 to 0-07. Words of wisdom from the Aughnamullen management team clearly had an effect on the team, as the boys came out flying in the second half. Another penalty which was brilliantly crafted by McCaul was this time tucked away by Christopher Geoghegan, which was soon followed by another Callum Hughes free to put seven between the sides. Killanny couldn’t find the answer to Aughnamullen’s resolute defence, with no way past the impressive Conor McMahon in goals aided by an air-tight rearguard to hold out for a clean sheet. Further points from McCaul and Caolan Daly sealed the deal for the Sarsfields to book their place in the Division 2 Championship Final, which is against a strong Clones side this Sunday the 9th at 4pm in Aghabog. Come out and support the lads in their final bid for glory, best wishes to the team and management.

Under 13s: Our Under 13 Division 6 final against Carrickmacross which was fixed to take place on Sunday morning was postponed due to a bereavement in the Carrickmacross club. The final will now take place this Sunday at 11.30am in Doohamlet. Best of luck to the team and management. Come along and support the boys.
