Clones Senior Team

Congratulations to our new Junior Champions CLONES GAA.

Clones won the battle against Killaney in Aughnamullen despite the heavy rain and blustery winds. Final score 1:6 to 6 points.

Well done to Captain Cameron Dowd and coaches Adrian Alford, Sarto Quigley & Colm Connolly. This is Clones’ first Junior Championship win since 1975.

Congratulations to David Freeman who was also awarded Man of the Match.

The senior team called out to Martin “Coach” Connolly’s grave with the cup as a tribute to the many years coaching and inspiring the team.

Let’s do the double – get out and show your support to Clones GAA vs Killaney this Saturday @4pm in Castleblaney.

Clones Flags are still available for sale. Please contact James Kieran’s or any of the Clones Social pages for more info.

Adamsons bar/Clones GAA Breakfast Morning

Last Saturday morning saw the newsesr installment of the annual breakfast morning in advance of the County Final. A great feed was promised and delivered! It was so great to see so many in the room and the atmosphere was superb but filled with anticipation ahead of the Final. All proceeds from the morning go to the senior and juvenile teams in the club. Many thanks again to our breakfast morning sponsor Adamsons Bar who are sponsored all the food and also thanks to club sponsor Super Valu and the Creighton hotel for their assistance in cooking the food and their general assistance on the day. Massive thanks also to James Sheerin and the garlic for mothers and others crew who made sure everything ran smoothly. What a start it was to an unbelievable day for the club.

U9s

Our U9’s put in a great performance in very wet conditions at the halftime game last Saturday. It was a great experience for these future Clones stars, made all the more special with the senior team claiming victory on the day. A great day for the club and well done to these lads who have improved their skills throughout the year.

Condolences

Clones GFC would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the McCabe, Reihill and extended family on the loss their father, papa and friend Frank McCabe. Predeceased by his wife Bridget, Frank and Bridget were life time supporters of our club and their loss will be indelibly felt by all of our club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
