BC BLITZ: 16 teams competed in the Brendan Colton memorial tournament last Saturday in glorious sunshine. Some very close and exiting games through the group stages provided great entertainment for the many parents who came along. Seans came out as winners in the shield final v Aughnamullan. A closely contested and exciting cup final was won by Scotstown who defeated Emyvale by a point. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day and special thanks to the Colton family for their continued support.

Congratulations to both Scotstown and Sean’s on their successes!

U13’s: Training times will be sent by text.

U11’s: they were unlucky last Saturday in the BC Cup Final where they lost by a single point. The team put in a huge effort and was just unlucky on the day. Well done to our u11 team for a great season and thanks to Paul and Gerard for their work all year

U9’s: Training resumes as normal. They had another great day out at the Truagh Blitz last Sunday. They are on the road again this Saturday away to Clones for another tournament. Good luck guys.

U7’s: Training as usual on Friday evenings.

Emyvale LGFC Notes

Seniors: Our Senior Ladies enjoyed a great win over Latton Ladies on Sunday morning in Round 7 of the Combilift Senior Football Championship. This now sets the Emyvale team up for a place in the Championship Semi-Final next weekend against Emmett Óg. This will be a home game for Emyvale with a throw-in time of 12 noon at St Oliver Plunkett Park.. Why not go along as we’d love to see as much support as possible to cheer our team on! Best of luck to team and management.

U10s: Our U10 players enjoyed a great morning of football on Sunday last when they participated in a mini Blitz in St Mellans. Thank you to the Truagh Gaels club for hosting.

U12s: Training continues for our U12 girls and they travel to Aughnacloy this evening Thursday for a challenge match where they’ll face the U12s from Aghaloo. Good luck girls.

U14s: The Frank Casey Memorial Tournament takes place this weekend, and over the coming weekends, hosted by the O’Neill Shamrocks Ladies Club. Emyvale have two teams in this age grade in Division 2 & Division 4. The Division 2 team will play over the weekend of 1st/2nd October where they play Carrickmacross. The Division 4 team meet Castleblayney on 8th/9th October. No fixture at time of print so please follow Emyvale Ladies social media for confirmed times and venues.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others: Our Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others group continues to go from strength to strength each week. We meet up every Wednesday from 8-9 so it’s not too late to get involved if you’d like to join in. It’s ladies football in a fun, social and non-competitive environment – why not come along!

Leadership Programme: Emyvale LGFC were delighted to receive news last week that Marie McCarron, a juvenile coach and committee member with Emyvale LGFC, has been selected as one of the participants in this year’s ‘Leading Provincial Females’ Programme. Marie is one of 80 successful participants chosen from 29 counties across Ireland and she will commence her leadership journey alongside the chosen participants from the Ulster region. The programme is designed for females interested in leading teams through their role in the LGFA or GAA and as part of the programme will complete modules in Coaching, Officiating, Administration and PR & Media. Huge congratulations to Marie who has been a long-standing and dedicated member of the Emyvale club, both as a player, mentor and committee member. We are confident she will represent our club with pride and will no doubt excel in this excellent programme!

Sympathy: Everyone in Emyvale G.A.A and Emyvale LGFC would like to express our deepest sympathies to the extended Mc Anespie family and their friends on the sad passing of John McAnespie, Aughnacloy. We also offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Bernadette Treanor, Glennan.
