Doohamlet G.F.C. Results: Congratulations to our U-15 team who won the Bogue Foodhall Division 4 Championship Final on Saturday afternoon last. 

On Saturday afternoon in Cremartin, Doohamlet U-15s took on their Neighbours Drumhowan in the Division 4 Championship final, from the throw-in, Doohamlet were on the front foot they had an early goal chance only for a good save by the Drumhowan keeper.  The game was played at a blistering pace throughout the first half with Doohamlet finding their shooting range to go in four points up at halftime with the score line  Doohamlet 0-12 Drumhowan 1-05.  In the second half Doohamlet started brilliantly and pushed on to go ten points up, but Drumhowan came storming back and hit 1-05 without reply creating a brilliant atmosphere.  It was nail-biting stuff coming to the end with Drumhowan shooting for goals but Doohamlet’s defense stood tall and with the last attack got a point to finish the game with a three-point lead.  The final score was Doohamlet 2-16 Drumhowan 2-13.  Thanks to Drumhowan for a great game of football.

Doohamlet G.F.C. Senior Team: Our senior team played Monaghan Harps in round two of the Mc Elvaney Waste & Recycling Intermediate relegation playoffs on Sunday afternoon in Doohamlet and came away as deserved winners of the game. 

Monaghan Harps opened up the scoring in the first minute however Doohamlet hit back with a flurry of points with Barry Mc Bennett scoring five points coming from frees and Colin Walshe scoring a point from play.  Monaghan Harps replies with three points and a great run from Jamie Walshe and Barry Mc Bennett results in Colin Walshe striking the back of the Harps net however, minutes later Harps scores a goal and leaves the score at half-time, Doohamlet 1-06 Monaghan Harps 1-05.  Doohamlet starts off the second half with an array of points. The opening score in the first minute was from Captain Barry Mc Ginn, followed by a point from Barry Mc Bennett. Ciaran Markey replaces Eoin Markey.  Jamie Walshe hits one over the bar and substitute Ciaran Markey gets his first score of the game. Oisin O Neill replaces Niall Connolly.  Monaghan Harps strikes with three points in a row.  Sean Markey replaces Hugh McGinn.  Barry Mc Bennett scores a further two points leaving a tally of eight points to his name and Sean Markey gets his name on the scoreboard with a well-placed point.  Paul Mc Ardle replaces Barry Mc Ginn and Kevin Mc Ardle replaces Damien Ward. The final score of the afternoon was Doohamlet 1-13 Monaghan Harps 1-08.  This was a great overall performance by all players and a welldeserved winWell done to all the team and management.  This leaves the team secure in their position in the Intermediate Division going into their final game of the season in two weeks’ time.
