Currin Seniors

On Saturday evening last, in ideal conditions, we welcomed Drumhowan in the final qualifying round of the championship where we came away with two deserved points to finish third in the qualifying group.

We started on opening the score with a point from play before shortly finding the back of the Drumhowan net to leave score at 1-1 to no score. Shortly afterwards we won a long range free, which we converted. Further good play from the lads resulted in another well taken goal. Drumhowan replied with three unanswered points to leave score line of 2-3 to 0-3 points. Both teams were forced to make blood substitutes after a clash of heads resulting in both players

having to go to hospital for treatment. We added another point from play to leave the half time score at 2-3 to 0-3

The second half resumed with Drumhowan getting a point from play. We responded with another goal after some good play. We added three more points from frees before once again finding the back of the Drumhowan net which meant we were leading by 4-6 to 0-4. Both teams traded points from play & frees and when the final whistle sounded, the final score was 4-12 to 0-9. This was a well-deserved win, with fine individual performances on the field.

We wish our own player Terry and the Drumhowan player speedy recoveries from their injuries.
