Clontibret Notes

Senior Championship

We take on Ballybay in the championship semi-final on Sunday at 2pm in Clones. Best of luck to the boys and management – make sure to be in Clones to get behind them in our bid to reach another county final.

U6s & U7s

Last Friday was our last pitch session of the year. Well done to all our boys who put in such a great effort all year. Also, many thanks to our coaches who were there to guide them, teach them and above all have fun!

Attendance has been great all year and all the boys have shown fantastic improvement. Remember boys….make sure and keep the practice up and don’t be afraid to try new things/sports over the winter and in no time at all we’ll see you all back together at the field. The future’s bright…Cluain Tiobraid Abu!!

U9s

Last Go Games of the year this Saturday in Clontibret with an earlier start time of 9am.

U11s

Last games of the year this Thursday and Saturday in the Liam Stirrat League. Management will be in touch with times. Well done to the lads who went to the Emyvale BC tournament last Saturday where they were eventually defeated by Scotstown in the semi-final.

U13s

Training Tuesday and Thursday this week at 6pm. All roads lead to Castleblayney Saturday morning for the Division 2 Championship final v Tyholland. Throw in is at 11am. Please come along in numbers to support the lads after the big effort put in all year by both players and management.

U15s

Well done to our second team last Friday evening with a fantastic team display to beat Monaghan Harps in the final. On a slippy pitch the boys worked their socks off from start to finish. Well deserved after a lot of hard work and improvement shown all year.

O’Neill Park

Thanks to all the stewards and helpers who gave of their time to help at the championship quarter final on Sunday to ensure everything ran smoothly. Many were commenting on the fine state of our grounds.

County Management

A big congratulations and well wishes to two of our own, Vinnie, who has been elected as county senior team manager with twin Marty as trainer. A huge honour for our club.

Congratulations also to Gareth Brennan and Emmet Walsh who were chosen as the county minor hurling management team. Well done to all and good luck in the year ahead.

Sympathy

The club extends its sympathy to team manager, Mick O’Dowd and family on the death of Pat Devenny and his daughter Margaret in Donegal. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamnacha dílis.
