GoGo Games: Our youngest ballers (4 – 11 years) continue to develop their skills with training each Tuesday evening from 7:00pm. All the children are having a great time and plenty of fun while making new friends as they develop their skills, thanks to all our coaches/mentors who give their time so generously. There was no blitz on Saturday last. This Saturday 3rd September the U9’s will enjoy a blitz in Ballybay at 10:00am. Please spread the word to your friends, family, neighbours and relations, new children are always very welcome.

Seniors: The senior team face Monaghan Harps in the next round of the Intermediate Championship this Saturday 3rd September in Monaghan at 6:00pm. Please be sure to come along and support the lads #BeThe16thMan. The next home match will be the final game in the Championship group stages against Blackhill on 11th September. Golf Classic: The annual Toome Golf Classic took place at the weekend past, with golfers playing on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th August. Friday started off with some rain but cleared in the afternoon and this allowed for some great golf to be played. Saturday was a beautiful day and the sun shone throughout, with our first team starting at 8:15am. The course was in beautiful condition and everyone was in good spirits. The day was brilliant with many of the golfers being very complimentary on the event and the course. We would like to extend our gratitude to all who were involved in making this essential Club fundraiser a huge success. The generosity and support from the local community and businesses was once again incredible with a great number of tee box sponsors, thank you to all who made donations towards this event our prize sponsors, Concra Wood, Dubarry Shoes, O’Neills Sportswear, Craig Loughman – The Gateway Lodge, Shoe City, The Glencarn Hotel, The View Restaurant, Fluchos. Huge thanks to our main sponsors who supported this event, Carna Transport and who continue to support our Club each year. The hospitality from Ashfield was again incredible with Michael and Brenda looking after everyone, huge thanks to Donal and his team for accommodating us and having the course in such great condition. We would like to thank all the golfers who entered the classic and hope you enjoyed this event. Congratulations to the winners on the day; 1st Place Team – Paul Murphy; 2nd Place Team – Breffini Morgan; 3rd Place Team – Jason Murphy. Gaelic 4 Mothers&Others: Our Mothers & Others team had a great evening on Friday last, playing a friendly game amongst themselves. Big thanks to our Mothers & Others coordinator Andrea Quinn & coaches Gary Wilson & Stephen Lambe for making it all happen. Please be sure to let friends and neighbours know of our Mothers&Others training continues each Monday and Thursday at 7:00pm in St Victors Park. The Gaelic 4Mothers&Others initiative sees women playing Ladies Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive and social environment. New members are joining each week so please spread the word, if you are interested, please contact Andrea Quinn on 087 678 6560.

Development Works: Works continue at St Victors Park, there is a lot of work completed to date with a lot more to do. If you are available to give a couple of hours or are available to operate an excavator, please get in touch. Gerrard Kelly continues with the erection of the fencing and this will continue for some time, anyone who is available to help with this please get in touch. We will need help with the removal and replacement of lighting in the coming weeks.
