Intermediate Championship

We headed to Tyholland on Saturday evening last in search of our first win in the Championship group stages. The game was a fairly tepid affair for the first twenty minutes with both sides exchanging two points each. In a quick change of pace, Tyholland hit three points on the bounce and we were suddenly chasing the game.

However, goal from the Seans squared the deal and settled the nerves. From here, we would not relinquish our advantage. Halftime had us three points in front and we would pile on the pressure to stretch this to six in the early stages of the second period. Our approach was much more confident and the introduction of some familiar faces from the bench gave the lads the spur to close out the game. Despite a red card we managed hit the net again and secure the win by ten points. A great improvement but a sterner task awaits on Sunday , at home to Monaghan Harps. With opportunities to secure points running out fast this will be tough assignment.

Well done the U11’s who travelled to Aghabog on Saturday last for their Summer League game. A great morning of skill and scores from both sides. The lads are growing in confidence and playing well as a team. Great work by all.

The squad will travel to Aghabog on Saturday at 11am for their first outing in the Championship. Good luck in the their opening game.

The U15 championship starts on Thursday night with a home tie against Latton. This will be a round robin competition with top teams qualifying for the final stages. Please come and support.

The 17’s championship is scheduled for Monday the 22nd Aug but no opposition, venue or time has been confirmed. This competition will take the same format as the U15’s.
