Currin Seniors

On Sunday last, we made the journey to face Killanny in the first game of the championship, where unfortunately in the end we fell to a heavy defeat.

We started off very lively and traded points with good pressure and play. Overall, the first half was an evenly contested half, and half-time score was home team leading by a point at 0-5 to 0-4.

The second half resumed with us levelling the match from a free. Killanny had a couple of wides and a great save by Fergal kept us still level and well in the game. We should have scored a goal then but unfortunately it was not to be and an error saw Killanny score a goal which left the momentum with Killanny. A second

goal followed shortly and a further two points which saw Killanny leading by 2-7 to 0-5. Killanny pushed on then and went 2-12 to 0-6 up. We had a number of wides before Killanny scored their third goal and added a further point to leave final score of 3-13 to 0-6. The lads will be disappointed especially with their second half performance.

Next out is Killevan next Saturday evening at 7pm in Scotshouse. Let’s make a big effort to support the lads.
