Clontibret Notes
Senior Championship
Another break this weekend followed by a home game against Ballybay on Saturday, 3rd September at 6pm. The final game of the round robin is against Scotstown the following Sunday.
U6s
Training continues this Friday at 6pm.
U7s
Blitz this Saturday at home, 10am to 11.30am.
U9s
Training as usual. Well done to all our lads who played last weekend. First up was a blitz at home where the lads played really well in trying conditions. Thanks to Drumhowan and Tyholland. Also to our other contingent who travelled to the prestigious Dromintee tournament in Armagh. Up against some of the giants in club football both in Ulster and Lenister the boys made it all the way to the Cup final where they were beaten by the narrowest of margins in the last kick of the game. Well done to the boys and their coaches and all the support from parents.
U11s
Training at usual times this week.
U13s
Training Tuesday and Thursday of this week in preparation for our next game.
U15s
Training Tuesday evening at 7.15pm. Game v Harps on Thursday evening away with a 7.15pm start.
U17s
We were defeated by Aughnamullen in our opening championship game on Monday. We put up a good fight, particularly in the second half, but the concession of five goals left too much to do to pull it back. Next up is away to Latton on Monday at 7pm.
Junior Hurling Final
Best wishes to the hurlers who play Inniskeen in the Junior Hurling Final in Truagh on Sunday at 1.30pm.
Sympathy
The club extends its sympathy to the Collins and McDermott families on the death of Maureen Collins, wife of the late Harry, a lifelong GAA supporter.
