County Champions Huge congratulations to our Senior team and management on overcoming Carrickmacross Hurling Club in the Senior Hurling Championship Final which took place on Sun 28th in Truagh. The first half ended on a scoreline of Blayney 1-07 Carrick 0-06 and was a close affair with both teams contesting every ball. In the 2nd half Blayney pulled away and tagged on their scores showing their hunger and class with the game ending on Blayney 2-15, Carrick 1-08. This makes it an impressive 6 in a row for Blayney. Congratulations to team Captain, Paddy Finnegan who also came away with the Man of the Match award. Well done to all and enjoy the richly deserved celebrations.

Training:

U7/U9’s training this week as usual on Wednesday 6-7pm.

U-11’s training in Concra this Tuesday 7 – 8pm.

Games:

U7’s/U9’s enjoyed the Monaghan Go Games Blitz in Cloghan last Wednesday 24th Aug. Thanks to Cloghan staff for facilitating. Great skill and effort from all the children, well done!

U-11’s gave a super performance on Sunday last during half time of the Senior County Final. The boys played Carrickmacross and were delighted with the opportunity to meet the Senior team and enjoyed the experience of big match day.

Come out and support the lads on Sun 4th Sept when they play Monaghan in Concra at 11am.

The boys also have a blitz to look forward to in Derrynoose on 11th September.

U-13’s played their League Final on Monday evening 29th at Cloghan where Carrick pipped them at the post on a scoreline of Carrick 2-09 Blayney 2-07. Hard luck boys

Back to School best of luck to all our players returning to school this week and especially to those who are starting Primary and Secondary School. Enjoy, it’s an old adage but a true one ‘school days are the best days of your life’!
