Action on the Field
It was a busy few days on the field. Our senior team suffered a defeat on Friday night past but all was not lost as a quarter final spot in the league has been secured. Eire Og will provide the opposition in that encounter this Sunday the 17th at 1pm in Paric Mhuire. All support appreciated. Clones and Scotstown contest the other quarter final. Killanny and Drumhowan await in the semi finals. It wasn’t to be for our U13’s in the division 4 Shield final when they went down to a goal hungry Doohamlet in an entertaining encounter in Blackhill on Sunday. While both sides matched each other score for score, it was the raising of the green flags by the O’Neills club that proved costly. Well done to the panel and management on reaching the final and the attention will now be turning to the championship. A lot of positives can be taken from the performances in the league and in particular from the final. The U15’s have continued on their winning way with a victory over Drumhowan on Thursday night past and have now qualified for the league final with one game remaining. The U9’s were in Blitz action on Saturday morning and again well done to all involved.
The U15’s complete the group stages of the league this evening when they welcome St Tiarnach Sarsfields to Paric Mhuire at 7:30pm. As noted a final spot has been secured by the team. The U11’s get their Liam Stirrat development league campaign underway this Saturday when they are away to Clones at 11am. The seniors welcome Eire Og to Pairc Mhuire on Sunday at 1pm in the Junior league quarter final. Killanny await the winners in the last 4.
Well done to Sean Greenan on his massive success at the Swim Ireland National Division 2 championships in Limerick recently. Over 4 days of racing, Sean competed in 7 swims, registering 7 personal best times, reached 7 finals and took home 5 medals. An incredible achievement for Sean who swims for the Sliabh Beagh club. He is also a member of our U15 panel and we look forward to seeing him back on the field of play as he swaps his goggles for the gloves. Well done Sean.
