Seniors: On Saturday last our senior team were invited to the prestigious All Ireland 7s tournament held in Kilmacud Crokes GAA club, with the team putting up a very strong showing winning twobog their three group games, unfortunately narrowly missing out on the knockout stages. Their first game was against St. Galls of Antrim, who are tournament regulars and previous champions. The lads produced an excellent display to come out on top on a scoreline of 6-08 to 2-10, opening their account with a win in what was a high caliber group. Their second game was against Templeogue Synge Street of Dublin, where they produced another stellar performance to win 3-12 to 4-07 in a pulsating game. The final group game was against Donegal’s Naomh Columba, where they lads fell to a two point defeat on a scoreline of 6-05 to 4-09. With two wins and a narrow loss, the wait was on after the group stages to find out if they had done enough to qualify for the quarter finals, but unfortunately missed out on points difference. Hard luck to the team and management, who put up a gallant display against top opposition.
