Castleblayney Faugh’s notes week beginning 27/06/2022

Seniors Men: Our senior men travel to Ballybay this coming Friday. It hasn’t been the best of league’s for the lads so let’s hope we can get some points in the last few games.

Hard luck to an understrength men C team who lost out in their last scheduled league game on Sunday past to Blackhill on a scoreline of 2-04 to 2-07.  The result doesn’t affect the table as the lads finish top and now look forward to a league Cup semi-final against Tyholland next week.  Before that they play Scotstown at home this coming Sunday at 2.00pm in the FRC McKeown Cup semifinal.

Seniors Ladies: Our Ladies Reserve team took on Donaghmoyne B in the semi final of the Reserve League on Sunday morning in St Mary’s Park on a very wet and windy morning. The Faughs Ladies started well but strong defence and accurate kicking from the Donaghmoyne ladies, left the game very much in the balance at half time. A serious effort in the second half eventually saw the Faughs ladies get a stronger grip on the game and some goals late in the game put the result beyond doubt. It was very much a panel effort with everyone putting in a hard shift to ensure a final spot was secured.

The Final is fixed for next Sunday the 3rd of July in  Blackhill at 12 against St Bridget’s. Cloud 10 who have kindly sponsored the team to help cover expenses for the year, were in contact to wish the girls the best of luck.

Juveniles: U6 and U7 training continues in St Mary’s park Thursday evening. U6 6.00pm to 6.50pm and u7 runs from 6.00pm to 7.00pm.
