Seniors Men: Our senior men host Latton in the league this Saturday in St. Mary’s Park, throw-in 7.00pm.

The reserve men Div3 team travelled to Rockcorry on Wednesday past.  In the dry conditions we played some great football and the result was really in no doubt by halftime.  With a fine balance of young and not so young this team is really starting to gel which hopefully will stand to the lads with the championship coming up soon.  The hosts clawed back the score in the second half but with a few insurance scores we came away with the points and a good performance.  Final score Rockcorry 2-11, ‘blayney 4-15

Our B’s began their O’Duffy Cup championship campaign at home to Killanny on Saturday past.  Having only met in the league a few weeks ago when Killanny got the points, the boys put in a great effort and kicked some fantastic scores.  In an entertaining game of football the Faughs got their campaign started with a deserved win, 3-15 to 1-12.  Next up is a home league match with Aughnamullan this Wednesday.

Senior Ladies: The Faughs ladies hosted Monaghan Harps on Sunday in their League game. The Harps had the Faughs girls in all sorts of trouble in the first half as they moved the ball at pace and got in behind the Faughs defence for three goals in the first half. This left the half time score as Faughs 2.5 to the Harps 3.5. In the second half the Faughs ladies upped their work rate and improved their ball retention and succeeded in stemming the tide and putting themselves in a winning position at the final whistle. The strength of the panel was of great benefit with fresh legs coming in to create a strong momentum.  Given the very warm sunny morning the girls adjourned to the grounds of the Hope Castle where they really enjoyed some healthy and tasty snacks from McMahon’s Super Valu and reviving fresh coffees from Odhran at Grinded Coffee Shop on Muckno St all courtesy of the kind sponsorship from David and Blaithin at Cloud 10 on line Beauty Products.

U15’s: The Div 1 U15 boys completed the first round of league games with a strong home performance against Donaghmoyne on Thursday last. In a keenly contested opening quarter there wasn’t much to separate the sides but a blistering spell by the home side say them take a commanding half time lead that they never looked like relinquishing. The visitors battled to the end but Blayney always found another gear when needed to run out comfortable winners. They have no fixtures for a number of weeks and when they return to action they’ll contest the top4 round robin league for a place in the league finals.

The Div5A team continued their winning ways with a closely contested game with Maghercloone on Friday last. It was the proverbial game of two half’s when a second half surge from the visitors saw them claw back the home sides half time lead. But a late goal decided the tied and left Blayney with the two points. They return to action on Friday week, away to Scotstown.

The Div5B team had no fixture but play Corduff this week and Aughnamullen next Wednesday.

U13’s: The u13s began their league campaign away to Carrick on Saturday past. Carrick began strong but the lads soon pulled it back and from that the game ebbed and flowed.  The boys put in a great shift and with a bit of luck could have gotten something out of the game but unfortunately the home team finished on a high.  Despite the result the team can be proud of their efforts. Training continues every Tuesday and Thursday.

U9’s: Well done to all who took part in the blitz last Saturday. Thank you to Garrett Carville- Carvilles Tools & Weld for sponsoring a set of jerseys & kit bag to the u9 team. Great display of teamwork and skill by the boys.
