Clontibret Notes

Vigil For Aishling

We were overwhelmed by the response to the call for the Vigil for Ashling at the track on Sunday evening last. People came in their hundreds to pay their respects and sign the Book of Condolences. It is a tragedy that has shocked us all and your condolences will be passed on to the Murphy family in due course. Many thanks to the chief organisers Eilis and Bernie who left no stone unturned in their attention to detail to create a poignant and respectful atmosphere for the walk and to the Gilsenan family who provided live music at the remembrance garden.

The New Season

Team managers in various grades are already making preparations for the coming year and will be in touch directly with players in the coming weeks. It is hoped that information on league structures in various grades will become available in the near future.

Camogie

The seniors played Castletara in the 2021 Ulster Junior Championship on Sunday. The opposition won in a one-sided affair but our depleted team tried hard throughout.

At the Ulster Convention on Sunday morning Clontibret was granted permission to play in underage and senior leagues outside of Monaghan. A similar derogation must now be secured from Leinster Council.
