St.Mellans Handball Club

She’s Ace.

We had 7 girls travel to Beragh & Carrickmore handball Club for the “She’s Ace” Ulster Handball Competition, Saturday was the 4 Wall competition, Beibhinn Mc Cluskey played in the 11 and under, Fionnuala Mohan & Leah Mc Carron played in the 13 and under, Aoibhinn Mc Cluskey & Fiona Flood played in the 17 and under with Eithne Boyle & Sarah Lavery playing in the Ladies Challenger section, Aoibhinn won the U17 section beating Fiona Flood in the final with Sarah Lavery defeating Eithne Boyle in the Challenger section final on the narrowest of margins 21-20 after the 10 minutes of play, there were no other joy for our other club players but it was a great experience as it was a first ever outing of competitive action for some players, then on Sunday Beragh held the One Wall fun competition, it also proved a great days fun and enjoyment for all with plenty of handball for all the girls, we have to compliment the Beragh club on running the event and the hospitality shown to all, we have photo’s on St.Mellans facebook page and more will be on Beragh and Tyrone Handball page.

We are hoping with all going well to hold a club blitz for the juveniles on 2 separate days in between Christmas and new year, we will hold the beginners on December the 28th with older juveniles on the 30th, this will give the younger ones a taste of competitive action and also give the bigger ones some play time during the break, keep an eye on messages going out for this!!!.

Mono League.

The Mono League will be taking a break for the Christmas period but we hope to be back in action in the New Year with all guns blazing and knock the stuffing and “turkey” out of you in ’22, any outstanding games please get them played ASAP as the league is running very smoothly so far.

Adult Singles

Anyone interested in playing adult singles in the Robert O Reilly Engineering & Gola Woodworks competitions please give your name to Brendy, some may not have been able to commit to the Mono League but would like to play in singles can most certainly do so, again get your name to Brendy.

Handball Gear.

Anyone that needs any handball equipment can avail of all in the club shop, the shop is open Thursday’s from 7-8pm, any late stocking fillers, we encourage parents to make sure that all the kids have a pair of “goggles” as these not only are part of gear but a safety piece of gear!!!!!!.

Happy Christmas.

The club would like to wish all our club members and the wider community a happy Christmas and a happy new year, we hope to see all back in full “swing” early in ’22, stay safe everyone!.
