U15’s: Hard Luck is extended to the U15 B team who were unluckily defeated in the Division 5B Final on Sunday last going down by 6 points by 5-7 to 1-13. This was a great battling performance from the lads coming from 8 points down at 1 stage to go 2 up with a few minutes to go however 2 goals by Truagh in injury time proved the difference and they ran out winners.  It was a credit to the lads on the day, but hopefully better days will come. In the first half the more physical truagh outfit went into an early lead and were 8 points up but gradually Aughnamullen got into the ascendancy and were 3 down at the break 2-5 to 0-8. Aughnamullen were dealt a further blow at the start of the half with another goal by Truagh but yet again back Aughnamullen with 1-3 without reply to go level at the second water break. In the final quarter they got into the lead with two points and entering injury time held a slight lead but were dealt a sucker blow in injury time with a couple of unfortunate goals and Truagh held on to win much to the relief of the Truagh supporters. Many thanks are extended to the team and management of Derek O Neill, Michael Murtagh, Dale Wilson, Joel Wilson, First Aid Linda Garrivan and Covid Officer Janet Bannigan. Although the team were beat in both finals by small margins, they can hold their head high for their performances in 2021. Many thanks are extended to celebrity farmer himself James Lambe and his wife Joanne Lambe who sponsored meal for the U15 team after last Sunday’s game

U13’s: The U13 B Team reached the semifinal of the Division 5 Championship courtesy of an excellent away victory to Donaghmoyne winning by 5-8 to 0-6. Aughnamullen started brightly with 2 early goals, and they kept this 6-point lead till the half time whistle. In the second half an early goal scoring bust making sure the game was never in doubt and Aughnamullen ran out winners. They now play away to Magheracloone on Monday next the 25th of October at 12 noon and best wishes is extended to the team and management. The Division 1 side also play Magheracloone in the semifinal this Saturday morning in Aughnamullen at 11am however this time may be changed. Check Social Media for further details.
