Drive in Bingo Continues
The Drive in Bingo continues this Saturday evening the 25th of September at 8pm sharp. The Jackpot currently stands at €2000 with a prize fund of €1350 been given away every night. We look forward to seeing you all and hearing the beeping of horns which highlights another winner. An added bonus is our 50/50 draw on the night with a varying prize fund available.
After the heroics of their League cup final win, the U15’s had little time to recover as they faced Sean Mc Dermotts in the Division 3 championship. Having gone to extra time 4 days earlier, it was evident from early on in the encounter that tiredness was still a factor as the side found it difficult to get to the pace of the game against a side who were finalists in the Division 3 league cup. While it was a defeat for the team, all is not over as they now go into the shield competition. In all the excitement of the U15’s league cup win over Ballybay on Tuesday evening the 14th, a member of the team who contributed an important score to the final result was omitted in error. To Odhran Connolly I extended sincere apologies for that oversight, in fairness anyone who has been following the fortunes of the team will know Odhran has played a major part on the team having been the goalkeeper before moving to an outfield position. Well done to him and all on the panel for their performances.
If you are not in you can’t win and the more you put in the more you can win. The 50/50 draw has proven to be very popular and we are giving everyone a chance to win big by playing on line. With the Covid 19 pandemic having curtailed a lot of fundraising ventures and the club lotto in particular, the committee have proposed to go with a weekly 50/50 draw. Entry is €5 with 50% of what is taken in been given back out as the prize. The opportunity to enter will become available from this Monday the 27th of September with the first draw taking place on Monday the 4th of October at 8pm. All draws after that will take place on Monday evenings at 8pm. Further details are available on the club Facebook page and Twitter accounts, while correspondence has been forwarded to all club members. Like any voluntary organisation, funds are required for the day to day running of the club and the upkeep of grounds and facilities. All support is appreciated.
The seniors have one more fixture remaining in the junior championship when they face Clones in round 5. Unfortunately with 3 defeats in the competition, the side cannot qualify for the knockout stages of the competition and will be focusing now on the league semi final which is scheduled for the 2nd weekend in November.
Bosco Carroll Memorial Cup
The U11’s will wrap up their season when they face Blackhill in the Bosco Carroll Memorial cup on Saturday (Sept 25th) at 2pm in Paric Mhuire. This is a much sought after trophy among the underage players with Rockcorry looking to win it back having last held it in 2019. These 2 sides met in the final round game of the Liam Stirrat Development league and produced a highly entertaining and sporting encounter a number of weeks ago, with similar expected again this Saturday at 2pm. All support is appreciated and our thanks to the Carroll family who organise this tournament game.
