Currin Seniors:
We travelled to Toome for our second round of the Championship on Sunday evening last. We started brightly to lead with a fine score from Jack Mc Carron but on nine minutes he had to retire with a severe facial injury, and this left us somewhat deflated and frustrated. Shortly afterwards being further reduced to fourteen left an insurmountable challenge and with the home side playing some exciting football they took a commanding lead into the break, 2-10 to 0-2. In a much improved showing in the second half we were never going to close the gap and Toome deservedly ran out easy winners in the end on a score line of to Currin 0-6, Toome 2-22. On a positive note, it was great to see Ciaran Mc Caffrey on the line on his way home from Santry following his cruciate operation. We wish him and Jack speedy recoveries.
Team and scorers, Fergal Connolly, Sean Brady, Conor Mc Caffrey, James Mc Quaid, Enda Mc Caffrey, Conor Smyth, Danny Mc Quaid, Tiarnan Kearns 0-2, Ronan King 0-1, Cian North, Niall Mc Entee, Ben Clerkin, Terry Mc Entee, Jack Mc Carron 0-1, Jack Mc Quaid, 0-2, Subs used, Dick Clerkin, Hughie Reilly, Dara Brady, Eoin Morrow, David Hynes.
Currin Reserves:
Our reserves are the in semi-final of the championship this Sunday at 2pm in Truagh. Please get out and support the lads. They have played some very enjoyable football this year and we wish both the players and management all the best.
