Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 8th June 2020.
Great Community Initative
From the onset of Covid our GAA Community have come together all over the County to help those in need in their communities .In Latton O’Rahilly GAA Club we were delighted to facilitate the helping out with the Food Hub in Latton .We have been delighted each week to receive a sizable allocation of Frozen Meals from Monaghan GAA and Kerry Foodservice . We were also delighted when Club members answered the call and weekly distribute Food Packs containing the meals and other much needed supplies . Thanks to all who have helped out in these strange times .
Opening up of Walking Track
First as a Club we would like to thanks each and everyone in the community who have worked so hard to ensure that this virus is curtailed as much as possible over the last 10 weeks. We were delighted with this week’s announcement from Croke Park that reopening of walking tracks is allowed, however following the detailed rules received for the reopening , the following plan for the opening up of our walking track to members is to be put in place:
For the week from Monday 8th June – Friday 12th June 2020 the track will be open from 11am – 1pm for the Vulnerable and over 70’s members who have been Cocooning ONLY.
Further details will be issued next week with regards to following weeks.
The following will also be applicable during these times
• Walkways to be supervised by club volunteers at all time • Walkway open for recreational purposes only • One-way directional system in place for use of walkway (Anti Clockwise around track) • Playing fields and all other club facilities to remain closed • Strict adherence to HSE Guidelines on Social Distancing and abidance of signage which will be placed at entry to walking track, • Entry by top small gate ONLY – EXIT by players gate at right hand side of main building (signage in place) • A policy of arrive, walk and leave will apply • Please ensure that you sanitise before commencing your walk

Well done to Katie Weldon from Garryduff Latton who this week cut 20 Inches off her hair and donated to the Princess Trust along with a donation of over €1,300 kindly donated by family & friends.
The Club extends its sincere Sympathies to the Fitzpatrick Family on the sad passing of Laura Fitzpatrick,Sporthall . Condolences to her son Ivan an ever present and hardworking committee member and to her Gransdson’s Stephen & Paul current Senior players with Latton GAA club and to her entire family and friends at this time .
Monaghan 2 mizen Latton Leg In memory of Noel’s late mum Nan’s frequent visits to Latton to her Daughter Maria Farmer and family Annascue Noel will be completing one of his half marathons in Latton on Sunday next the 14th of June from 3 to 7pm.Noel will be walking around the roads of Latton completing 4 laps x5km .
