The hugely popular ‘Ireland Lights Up’ walking initiative returns to Gaeil Triucha this Thursday 9th January, in partnership with the GAA, RTE Operation Transformation and Get Ireland Walking.  Do you want to get moving and active this New Year, but you have nowhere to go?  Do you find it hard to find a safe and well-lit area to go a walk during the dark winter months? Well, your local GAA Club has the answer!  We’re coming on board with the RTE Operation Transformation and the GAA for Ireland Lights Up. Every Thursday evening from the 9th January 2020 – 26th February 2020 our walking track will be lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk from 7pm to 9pm.  We want everyone to come and join for Ireland Lights Up 2020!  All participants will need to sign in each week so that official numbers can be recorded and sent to RTE Operation Transformation.  The walking track is also available to the community for use at your own convenience.  To facilitate this, a switch for the lighting on the track has been installed at the door to the boiler house, which is accessible 24/7.  Plans are well under way for this year’s Truagh Community Transformation due to commence in St. Mellans mid January, more details to follow.

AGM will take place Sun 26th Jan at 3pm in St. Mellans.
