Healthy Clubs:  Gaeil Triucha CLG were delighted to welcome Paudie Butler, Coach Educator and former National GAA Hurling Director to St. Mellans complex on Thursday evening past 24th October to do a talk entitled ‘Developing Confident and Competent Children’.
Paudie spoke passionately about releasing the potential in every person through inclusiveness and has travelled the length and breadth of the country supporting clubs and coaches in the development of GAA.
We had a excellent turn out.  The feedback from those who attended was extremely positive.
Thanks to Paudie Butler for giving up his time to come to the club and thank you to all who attended and  took the time out of their busy schedule to attend this very important talk.

Cards are continuing in St Mellans from 8.30pm each Wednesday.  Everyone welcome.

St. Mellans Handball:  Mono League. All is going good so far in the Mono League, NB if a sub is needed on the night they must be given at least 24 hours notice of the game!!!!!, the referee nominated to start each night has been working well, please ensure you are in place by 7pm and the losing player refing the next game, captains please ensure that all your team members have their membership played, 40 Euro per player.
Credit Union Juvenile League. We are in process of putting together the Juvenile Credit Union League, all games this season will be played on Thursday and Saturday evenings, the same rules apply as per the adult league, if a game can not be play on the date please try to get the game played before the scheduled night, after the league we hope to organise a singles and doubles championships for involved.
Juvenile Coaching. The juvenile coaching sessions have now been changed due to the start of the Credit Union league, all groups will be messaged about what time each group will be on, this will be happening on Wednesdays and Fridays, keep an eye on “WhatsApp” and on all social media, dates have been set for county championships in November so get out and practise, we would also encourage the new beginners to come down in their spare time and get use to the alley and practise the basic rules of the game
Membership. Can all outstanding membership be paid up ASAP as games are now starting and we want all paid to cover for insurance, 40 Euro per playing member, students 20 Euro, non-playing members and juveniles are 10 Euro.
Handball Equipment. The club shop has a full range of handball gear in stock, the most vital part of the handball gear are the goggles, can all players please ensure coming down to play or practice to have your goggles with you, gloves at an early age can be worked around for a while until players and parents see how things progress, the club shop is open from 7:30pm til 8:30pm on Thursdays.
