Sean’s Notes

Killanny were our visitors on Saturday evening last in a crucial intermediate league clash. It was a close and tense affair from the off with scores exchanged early on. This was the nature of the half and the visitors scraped a one point advantage at the break. Killanny tagged on another couple of points in the third quarter but this was cancelled out with a goal by the Seans and it was all square again. However as time ticked into the final quarter , Killanny , rattled the home net and began to press home their advantage. As the time ran out the Seans kicked over a couple of points but the deficit was a single score as the final whistle sounded. Survival in this league is now very much in doubt with other results going against us. The back door to the championship remains our only chance of silverware .

U11 Summer League

What a day we had on Saturday when Eire Og came to play the final game in the summer league series. The weather was so unpredictable on the day with wind , rain and sunshine but this did not deter the excellent display from both teams. They were a credit to their coaches as they served up great excitement and skill. This was the culmination of a league series which sought to develop all the skills of the game and what a great success it was. Well done to Sean Ward who was awarded the skills award for the Seans team. However congratulations to all the players and their coaches, Adrian Larkin and Fergal Ward , for their non stop commitment all year.
