Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 17th September 2019.


Latton lotto held to 11th September -The numbers drawn were 3-7-11-13 Bonus 22. There was a lucky winner of match 4 -Darren Duffy Latton . Congratulations to Darren on your win.


Latton had a comprehensive win on Tuesday 11th September at home v Castleblayney in Quarter Final of Cahampionship . They face Donaghmoyne on Saturday 21st in avenue to be confirmed at 5pm.

Senior Championship

Latton v Castleblayney -Senior Championship Round 2B – Latton travelled to Clontibret on Sunday last to face Castleblayney in Senior Championship. Castleblayney got off to a flying start going five points up by the 12th minute of the 1st half. Owen Coyle was first to register with a point from play in the 13th minute. Castleblayney replied with a point from a free half way through the half . Latton’s second score came from Christopher Rice with a point from play.Latton hit a form patch with points following from a Hugh McElroy free and a second from play for Owen Coyle ibn the 21st minute of the half.Castlebblayney replied in the 22nd minute to leave 3 between the sides. Aaron Mulligan hit over a score from play on the 24th minute followed up in the 29th minute by a Padraig Hughes point .Stephen Fitzpatrick levelled the game on the 30th minute with Blayney hitting over a point in injury time to leave them ahead by a single point at ½ time.

Castleblayney were once again 1st of the mark in the 2nd half with a point in the 1st minute cancelled out by an Owen Duffy point in the 4th minute. Once again 2 converted free’s for Castleblayney seen them restore a 3 point lead 10 minutes into the 2nd half .2 Latton Substitutions seen Latton regain momentum and Owen Coyle hit over a point in the 11th minute. Aaron Mulligan hit between the post in the 14th minute from play with Bernard O’Brien levelling the game in the 15th minute of the 2nd half.Aaron Mulligan put over the leading point in the 16th minute however once again Castleblayney equalised in the 25th minute. Once again the on form Mulligan hit over the leading point from play in the 28th minute followed up by an injury time Free from Stephen McCabe to leave Latton run out winners on scoreline of Latton 0-14 – Castlebleyney 0-12.

A good performance to set up a Quarter Final against Gaeil Truicha on 29th September at 1pm in Emyvale. Our Final Laegue game is at home on Sunday next 22nd against Gaeil Truicha at 12.30pm.

A night of Star Performers will take place at Lynch’s Bar,Lisnalong on Saturday 21st September,commencing at 9.30pm,as Latton GAA prepare for the night of the year,the LATTON OsKaRs,the Karaoke Night is Seamus Coyle’s Fundraiser,with a great night guaranteed,with Star Guest Performers,prizes for winning Female and Male Performers,refreshments served.Performers from right accross the County of Monaghan and adjoining Cavan clubs of Drumgoom & Cootehill.

Race Night

Two of our Lady Actors Rosie & Michelle Smyth are organising a Race Night in Liam Smyth’s on Saturday 28th September 2019 at 9pm Poker Classic

A poker Classic is being held in Aughnamullen Centre on Saturday 5th October. Our 2 brave Aughnamullen Actors Mervyn & Lee are organising this event.
