Seniors: It took extra time and penalties to separate Donaghmoyne and Killanny in the McElvaneys Waste and Recycling Intermediate Championship. This was a tight affair played in difficult conditions with a strong wind causing problems for both sides. Donaghmoyne started the first half well with points from Darren McElroy and Fergal Keenan, some fine long range scores from McElroy and Stephen Finnegan opened up a 3 point lead before Killanny produced an equalizing goal. Further scores were added by Garland and McElroy but Killanny finished the half with a one point lead 1-5 to 7. The second half saw Donaghmoyne edge ahead but unable to pull clear of the Geraldines who forced an equalizing point with five minutes of normal time to play but neither team could grab a winner. The first period of extra time sparked a bit of life into the game with both teams scoring 1-1. The Donaghmone goal a well taken effort from Joe Kelly. The Second half would see only one additional point each added, and penalties beckoned. While not an ideal way to finish a game the spectacle of penalties was certainly exciting with the usual heroics from scorers and keepers alike. After five penalties the score was 3-3 with Stephen Finnegan, James McCaughey and Cillian Coleman the Donaghmoyne scorers. It was now sudden death and Cillian Coleman stepped up again to put Donaghmoyne ahead. The pressure was now on the Killanny player who struck a well hit penalty only to see Shane Garland make a fine save turning the shot onto the frame of the goal and sending Donaghmoyne through to the second round.

U17s: The U17s were beaten by Emyvale in the league semifinal on Tuesday last. An end to end encounter played out in front of a large crowd saw Donaghmoyne come up just short despite a strong finish with the Emyvale keeper pulling off a good save in the dying minutes to deny the Fontenoys. The lads now move on to the championship group stages with an away game to Blayney on Tuesday 27th.

U15s: The U15s are away to Carrickmacross this Thursday at 7-30 in the championship, please come along and support the lads.

U13s: The U13s lost out away to Scotstown in their second group game of the championship 3-17 to 1-9. The B team are away to Scotstown on Saturday in the championship at 2:30.
