Currin V Carrickmacross
On Wednesday evening last, we welcomed Carrickmacross to our home venue where we came away with a draw in a very entertaining game where it could be argued we were unlucky not to take full points. Carrick went 3 points ahead before Jack converted a free and Dick scored a point from play. Colm McCaffrey scored a point from play before Kevin Murphy converted a free leaving us level after Carrick got another point. Carrick’s goalie made a fine save against. Carrick went up the field and scored a point leaving them a point up. Some very good defending resulted in us winning a free which Jack converted. Jack also scored our next point from a free to put us a point up at 6-5. However, Carrick equalised just before half time to leave all square.
The second half resumed with Carrick been awarded a penalty but Fergal pulled off an excellent save giving Carrick a 45 to which they converted. Jack again converted a free before Dick scored a point from play. David Hynes then scored a goal for a second game in a row leaving us a goal up at 1-8 to 8 points. Kevin converted a point from play leaving us a point up. Carrick scored a point and again Fergal made a great safe. Jack then scored 2 points from play before Carrick added a goal and a point to leave a point in it. A free was then converted by Jack still having us winning by 2. Carrick scored a point before Jack put us back up 2. Again, Carrick converted a free. We missed a goal opportunity to kill of the game but instead Carrick scored 2 points from playing leaving them a point up going into injury time. However, we were awarded a free deep into injury time which Kevin did great work to convert giving us a draw.

Currin V Latton
Our Senior team travelled to Latton on Saturday evening last where unfortunately luck was not on our side and were defeated by 7 points. With injuries to Jack and Sean Brady prior to the start of the game and injuries received to David Hynes and Conor McCaffrey during the game, we struggled at times. To add to this, we also notched up 11 wides as opposed to Latton at 6, of which most we should have scored. Kevin opened the score with a point from play. Conor Smyth converted a free before Latton also scored 2 points. Latton pushed on scoring the next 3 points before they scored a goal leaving us trailing by 1-5 to 2 points. However good play by Stephen Smyth resulted in David Hynes scoring his 3rd goal in as many games. We then scored our second goal from Dick to leave the score at 1-5 to 2-2. We missed a number of frees then before Latton finished out the half with 2 points leaving them 1-7 to 2-2.
Second half resumed with a series of wides by us but Latton added 3 points to their total leaving them 1-10 to 2-2. Ciaran McCaffrey scored a goal to bring us
back into the game before Latton added a goal and a point to their tally. We again had wides before Latton scored another goal and 2 points leaving them 3-13 to 3-2. Kevin converted 2 frees before we again missed scoring chances. The game finished out with us converting 2 frees by kevin after good work up front. Final score3-13 to 3-6.
