Seniors: Donaghmoyne and Aughnamullen played out an exciting draw on Saturday evening in a classic game of two halves. Donaghmoyne started well with a McElroy point but within 12 minutes they were trailing 2-2 to 2 points. An Aaron Courtney goal narrowed the gap but that was as good as it got for the Fontenoys as the visitors scored an unanswered 1-5 to deservedly lead by 11 points at half time. Donaghmoyne started their unlikely come back with points from McCaghey, Finnegan and Garland. The introduction of Frank Markey and Padraig Donaghy was giving Donaghmoyne a foothold in the midfield. A goal by Darren Coleman closed the gap to six points and suddenly the visitors were rattled. A Stephen Martin point was followed by a Niall keenan goal and the game was back in the melting pot. Further scores from Finnegan and Garland had the side’s level at 3-8 apiece with 15 minutes left. Two more Coleman points had Donaghmoyne in an unlikely lead but the visitors were not about to give up and points were exchanged with Courtney and Finnegan keeping the Fontenoys two ahead. Aughnamullen fought back and snatched the lead once again with a late goal. With the final whistle beckoning Donaghmoyne broke back up the field and Davy Garland grabbed the equalizer leaving both teams wondering how they hadn’t won the game. Well done lads on a great comeback. Next up Magheracloone on Sunday in Donaghmoyne at 12:00
