U-17 Football Division 2 – Cup Semi Final
St. Patricks 7-11 Emyvale 1-11
An impressive 2nd half goalscoring blitz and some direct running with measured passing was enough for this U-17 St Patrick’s team to progress to the final of this cup competition. It didn’t take long for St. Pats to get going in the first half and a great goal from Full Forward Julius showed their early intention when he smashed it into the top right corner of the net. Emyvale fought hard in the first half to make a game of it and went in at the break trailing on a scoreline of 0-09 to the home teams 1-08. The second half proved to be a different affair as St. Patricks came out and really went for the goals, scoring 6 goals and controlling the game through damaging, direct running by corner forward Dara that caused the Emyvale defence serious hassle. They ran out deserved winners and on the strength of this showing, they should be well set up for the final against Aughnamullen on Sunday 28th of October. We urge all to come out and support the team.
