Our seniors recovered well from their defeat to Carrick last week as they defeated Inniskeen by three points on Saturday evening. Two first half goals by David Kirk and Paudie Kirk looked to have settled Magheracloone well into the game but not to be outdone by their opponents, Inniskeen rallied with two goals of their own just before half time leaving the Mitchells just one point ahead going in at the break. Points were exchanged quickly at the start of the second half with Inniskeen soon going ahead. This was short lived as Magheracloone got to grips with the remainder of the second half and finished off the game with scores from Alan McCahey, Paudie Kirk, Liam Óg Murray and Pete Ward. Next up for our seniors are Blayney away on June 29th.
Our reserves played Latton last week and defeated them on a scoreline of 1-15 to 2-10. This was a must win game for the reserves and they rose to the challenge as expected. Magheracloone defended very well in the latter stages and Latton will rue their missed chances on goal towards the end. Well done lads. Best wishes to Sean Marron who sustained a mouth injury on the night. Next game is against Truagh away on Sunday at 12:30pm.
