Monaghan GAA in conjunction with the HSE is holding a Safetalk suicide awareness course in St. Mellons, Truagh on Wednesday 27 November starting at 6.45pm. This course focuses on identifying signs that individuals may be contemplating suicide and helping direct these individuals to relevant support services.

It is important that all participants’ names are sent through to myself in advance. At present, only two clubs have sent forward names for the course so it is very difficult to justify running the course on that basis.

Can I ask that the details of this course be circulated within your club and to all of your coaches and administrators. This is an issue which is unfortunately a reality for many individuals within all of our clubs. However, unless some more clubs buy into this process, we will be unable to proceed.
