CLUB NOTES

12th September

From the outset may I apologise for no club notes last week. Difficult to print when you send the email but forget to attach the notes themselves, so just a little update on the happenings over the past 2 weeks.

U13’s Championship Final

Pride of place this week goes to the U13’s who have reached the Division 4 championship final where they will face Drumhowan on Saturday with a time and venue to be confirmed as we were going to print. The work and effort that this team have put in over the past number of months has been incredible. Their path to the final seen them account for Doohamlet in the quarter final before going toe to toe with Killeevan in a classic encounter in the last 4 where 3 unanswered points in injury time see them across the line. Drumhowan will be formidable opponents in the final as they have already claimed the Division 4 league title as well as tasting success at Feile this year, but Rockcorry will relish the challenge and we wish the best of luck to the team and their coaches. All Support is welcome and you are asked to note that there will be a €5 admission charge with the proceeds going to the Youth development in the county.

U11’s

A word of mention for the U11’s who wrapped up their county action with a victory over Monaghan Harps in the Liam Stirrat Development league. Credit to both sides for serving up an absolute cracker of a game which ebbed and flowed both ways with Rockcorry edging it at the end 25 points to 21. In fairness the final score was a byline for a great game of skill, passion and hard work. Well done to Calum Calvert and Josh Cassidy who picked up the “Most Skilful player awards” on an evening when football and representing the club was the real winner.

The Top 4 Lotto Jackpot stands at €2900 after there was no winner from Monday nights draw. The numbers drawn 13, 17, 18, 24.
