Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Round 3B

Toome 1-13 Scotstown 1-10

Toome set up a JFC semi-final derby against Blackhill when they came from behind to oust Scotstown in Emyvale last Friday night. Toome could do very little right for most of the first half, as Scotstown built up an eight-point lead. Toome finally got themselves into the game, however, with six points in the latter stages of the half and they would also finish the game with a flourish.

Scotstown managed to stay three points up going into the last five minutes, but Toome hit the last 1-3 to go through. Stephen Lambe was the central figure in Toome’s comeback, not just for flicking home their goal late on.

Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Round 3B

Clones 0-16 Éire Óg 1-8

Clones completed the line-up for the JFC semi-finals when they proved too strong for neighbours Éire Óg in Scotstown last Sunday. Darren Freeman and Adrian Alford were in prolific form as Clones, who had led by 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time, pulled away after the restart to take an unassailable lead. Michael Tierney got a late goal back for Éire Óg, but it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap.
