Clontibret Notes

Greenfield Senior Football Championship

It’s all roads lead to St Mary’s Park Castleblayney on Saturday 14th September where we take on Ballybay in Round 2a of the championship at 2.30pm. The winner goes straight to the semi-final while the loser plays the winners of Blayney/Latton or Carrick /Inniskeen. There is another SFC double header at O’Neill Park on Sunday when Blayney play Latton at 3pm followed by Scotstown and Truagh at 4.30pm. Usual help required to steward this event from 1.30pm

Shoe City Senior League

Currin conceded last weekend’s game so the final round is now a home game with Inniskeen on 22nd September.

U6

Training continues as normal this week.

U9

All our U9s represented the club with distinction at the weekend playing games in both Clontibret and Tyholland. Well done to all. Training continues as normal.

U11

The U11s had a very busy weekend. On Saturday the boys competed very well in the Mick Farrell competition in Monaghan Harps reaching the final. On Monday evening the  two U11 teams are played Killiveen in the Liam Stirrat Summer League Finals. A great occasion and where all players displayed their skills for the large support in attendance.

U13

They were mixed fortunes for our U13 teams in their respective championship semi-finals played last weekend. The Div 2 U13 team had a great victory over Monaghan Harps in Emyvale. Unfortunately our Div 6 team came up short after showing great courage and a battling display against Carrickmacross on Sunday morning. Well done to this group of players who have improved immensely throughout the year. All roads now lead to Monaghan Harps this Saturday at 11am where our U13’s play Scotstown in the Division 1 final. Please come out and support the boys.

U15

The U15s year came to end against Maghercloone in their Championship semi-final last Thursday. Thanks to all mentors and players for their efforts throughout the year.

U17

Our 17s had a win against Seans last Tuesday. They now turn their attention to their Semi-final in a weeks time.
