Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 27th August 2019

LOTTO

Latton lotto 27th August 2019 – Numbers drawn were 4-3-17-15 Bonus 21– No Winner and the €20 winners were Pauric McAdam,c/o Martin Brady,Emmy Sullivan,Latton,James McDaid,C/O Martin Brady.Thanks to those who continue to support our weekly lotto.

U13’s

Well done to our U13’s who came up against a very strong Scotstown side last weekend.

Our U17’s were out on Tuesday of this week – see Social Media for coverage.We play at home next Tuesday at 7.30.

U19’s

Connolly’s Meats Under 19 Division 1 Football Final

Latton travelled to Corduff on Wednesday 21st August to face Magheracloone in Final of U19 League . A wet evening had left the playing surface slippy however conditions cleared just before the start of the match to leave it clear overhead for this much awaited encounter. Latton lined out with Shane Black in Goals , a full back line of Eoin Duffy,Thomas McPhillips and James Hughes . The half backs were Karl Hughes (Captain) ,Conor Corrigan and Shane Slevin . In Mid field were Shane Duffy with James Slevin replacing Padraig Hughes. Gavan West,Aaron Mulligan and Michael Coyle were in the half forward line with the Full Forward line comprising of Enda mcPhillips,Darragh Dempsey and Kevin Fitzpatrick.A fast start to the game with Darragh Dempsey opening up the scoring from play in the 2nd minute. Ryan Farrelly cancelled from a 45 however once again Darragh Dempsey hit over a 2nd point on the 4th minute. The next score was a point from Eoin Duffy followed by a goal in the 6th Minute from Kevin Fitzpatrick. Aaron Mulligan hit over a point in the 8th minute . Magheracloone replied with 2 points from play . Latton hit over a point in the 13th minute from Kevin Fitzpatrick with Magheracloone hiting over their 4th half way through the 1st half .A 3rd point from Darragh Dempsey left the score Latton 1-06 – Magheraclooone 0-04. A point from Magheraclooone was followed by Latton’s 2nd goal from Eoin Duffy in the 22nd minute .Eoin Duffy hit over his 3rd score in the 25th minute with a point from play. Gavin West hit over a point in the 28th minute with Magheracloone hitting the final score of 1st half to leave half time score Latton 2-08 – Magheracloone 0-06.Magheracloone settled 1st into the 2nd half hitting over 2 points . Latton found the net in the 5th minute from the boot of Aaron Mulligan . Once again Magheracloone hit over 2 points . Darragh Dempsey hit a point in the 17th minute followed by a 2nd Goal for Aaron Mulligan in the 19th minute. Kevin Fitzpatrick hit a point on the 20th minute with Aaron Mulligan converting a free in the 23rd minute. The Final score was a point on the 30th minute from Kevin Fitzpatrick to leave final score Latton 4-12 – Magheracloone 0-10. Scorers Eoin Duffy 1-02,Gavan West 0-01,Aaron Mulligan 2-02 (1 Free),Darragh Dempsey 0-04,Kevin Fitzpatrick 1-03.A great performance by this young Latton side who dominated the game from start to finish . Well done to each player who played an important part . Congratulations to Management team of John McPhillips,Martin Duffy,Michael Duffy and Shaye coyle.

Senior League

Latton were defeated in the preliminary Round of Championship last weekend against Ballybay . We have been drawn against Currin in next Round in Emyvale on Friday 30th August 2019 at 8pm . Show your support for our Seniors.
