Castleblayney Hurling Club Notes 29th August 2019

Juvenile Training schedule is as follows:

U7/U9/U11 training is on Wednesdays from 6-7pm in St Mary’s Park Juvenile pitch. Parking at Castleblayney College and enter field by signing in at side gate. Registration forms available at training.

U11’s Our U11s finished off their league campaign on Sunday last with the two Blayney teams playing league finals against Clontibret and Carrickmacross. Well done to the boys who were presented with medals by County and Blayney hurlers Peter Treanor and Fergal Rafter. This has been a great opportunity for us to get competitive games especially for our newer and younger hurlers and thanks to Cloghan for organising this tournament.

U12’s Our U12s travel to Mullinahone on Saturday next to take part in their annual tournament. Best of luck to the lads, who will be joined by teams from across Ireland on the day.

U-13, U-15 & U-17’s training continues on Mon and Wed evenings. The u13 team had a good win on Monday night in Latton and look forward to the Championship in the near future. Great to meet new opposition and commendable work being done with the juveniles in developing the skills further in Co. Monaghan. Training continues on Wednesday night in Concra for the U13’s.

The U17 Hurling Championship final between Castleblayney and Carrickmacross is fixed for Sunday the 8th September in Cloghan at 11am. If the Clontibret pitch becomes available the fixture will be played there.

Senior team had a hard earned one-point win in the league semi- final against an ever improving Truagh team. In a thrilling encounter played at Cloghan, Blayney had to dig deep to eke out a victory by the narrowest of margins.
