Fundraising Draw: As you maybe aware the club are running a fundraising draw this year with proceeds going towards the development of a new training field adjacent to the ones that are presently being used.  Tickets for our draw cost €20 each or 3 for €50. Prizes are as follows Top prize of €5000 followed by Holiday to Europe, Tickets and overnight stay at an Ireland Rugby International and also ticket and overnight stay to a Manchester United Premier League game and also overnight stay at the Allingham Hotel Bundoran and the club would sincerely like to thank the following people who have sponsored towards our fundraising draw i.e. Nally Brothers Ltd, Lough Egish Motor Factors, Tusker Ltd, Ward Consultancy Services Ballybay, Platinum Tanks, Mourne Shooting Range, Mc Elvaney Waste & Recycling & Dignams Castleblayney. Many thanks to all the people who have bought tickets from inside our parish and outside our parish. Also many thanks to all those who have sold tickets however there is a need for more help to make sure the draw is a success so we are calling on our Senior players, parents of our juvenile players, supporters etc to come out and help with the draw and make it a success that it can be.

Seniors: The Senior team played at home to Killanny on Friday night last in Aughnamullen and came away with another draw on a score line of 2-09 to 0-15. This game could be described as a game of 2 halves with Aughnamullen in the ascendancy in the first half and the Geraldines dominant in the second half. In the first half Aughnamullen started well and were 3 up after 10 minutes the highlight being a couple of fine long range point shooting and 2 well worked goals increased it to 6 and they held this lead till half time by 2-7 to 0-7. In the second half the away side upped the ante and scored 7 points without reply to go into the lead with 5 minutes to play however credit to the home side who scored 2 of the last 3 scores to leave it level at the finish. Next game is against Magheracloone in Annaghminnon Rovers GAA ground on Friday night next at 8pm. Best wishes is extended to team and management. Directions to Annaghminnon is as follows Take the Dundalk Road out of Carrickmacross when you reach the bridge take the second road to the right where you reach a cross take a left at the cross and the pitch is on the main road on the left hand side.

Reserves: The Reserves played Ballybay in the last round of the league on Wednesday night (last Night) check social media for details. If successful they have a home semi final on Wednesday night next the 24th of July. Best wishes is extended to team and management

Under 19: The Under 19’s play away to Carrickmacross this Sunday at 2pm.Best wishes is extended to team and management.

Parish Tractor Run: This Sunday The Jersey Themed Parish Tractor Run takes place. The route has been finalised and it is hoped that the houses along the route would mark the route with signs, bunting etc to welcome the Tractor Run through their area. There will be tea and buns available at the Church car park before the event and there will be a barbecue and tea and sandwiches at the centre, along with musicians and a Mini Tractor Run for children to close the event so please feel free to take along your children’s toy tractors to the Social Centre. A raffle will take place at the Social Centre for a number of valuable prizes.The Run starts at 2pm with Registration from 1pm at the Sacred Heart Church Lough Egish. Also anyone who would be willing to bake for the refreshments before the run can they leave the items in Shantonagh PO on Saturday between 9am – 1pm or at the Sacred Heart Church Car Park on the day of the event

Under 17: The U17 team returned to winning ways in Round 3 of the Cup Competition on Tuesday last with a hard earned 1 point victory over Truagh on a score line to 1-16 to 2-12. This was a game in which any team could have won between 2 evenly matched sides. In the first half there was little separating the sides and Truagh led by 1-04 to 0-06 at the break. In the second half there was little separating the sides until Truagh scored a goal to open a 5 point lead mid way through the half but the home side came back with a goal of their own to reduce the arrears and they kept plugging away and emerged victorious by 1.  Next game is on the 30th of July which is to be confirmed who the opposition will be.

Under 15: The Under 15 panel are training away on Tuesday of last week they played in U15 7 aside blitz held in Cloghan but they were beaten by Clontibret, Clones & Tyholland. Their next game is the Championship on the 1st of August with a home game against Carrickmacross B more details to come later.

Under 13: The Under 13 panel are training away they are due to play Rockcorry on the 27th of July in Round 1 of the Championship more deltails to come later.

Under 11: The under 11 panel played Donaghamoyne on Saturday last and they Scotstown this Saturday

Ladies Football: Results Minors were beaten by a strong O’Neills side last Thursday. U16s had a good win over Killeevan on Monday last on a scoreline of 7:05 to 5:04. Upcoming Fixtures U12s are away to Magheracloone Wednesday 17th ( last night) at 7pm. U12s play at home against Corduff Saturday 20th July at 12 noon. U16s are away to Aghabog Monday 22nd July at 7pm

Well Done: Well Done is extended to the Monaghan U17 team which won the Ulster Minor Championship on Sunday last. They now play Cork in the All Ireland Quarter Final next weekend TBC.
