Development Hurling League Shield Final

Mattock Rangers claimed more silverware when they held on to see off Monaghan Harps in the Development Hurling League Shield Final at Carrickmacross last Thursday. Last year’s DHL winners from Collon, Co Louth raced into a six-point lead, helped by an early goal from Gary Rellis. The Harps put in a spirited comeback, with Cathal Power and Brendan McQuaid hitting five points each, but they were always playing catch-up after that slow start. Jonathan Matthews top-scored for Mattock Rangers, who recovered from a disappointing third-quarter showing to hit four of the last five points and win by two.
