Club sponsor the club are indebted to our main sponsor, Pete McMahon of Centra & Supervalu for sponsoring a set of jerseys for the Senior team. This generosity makes running the club so much easier and we would ask all club members to shop local and support our sponsor.
Development Hurling League Well done to our reserve team who qualified for the final of the Monaghan Development Hurling League on Thursday evening with a convincing win over neighbours, Carrickmacross on a scoreline of 4-13 to 2-3. The Blayney lads set the tempo from the beginning, playing some excellent hurling but lacking the cutting edge which has been a feature of this team’s performances over the last few weeks. Aside from two brilliantly worked goals, finished off by Ciaran McBride and Aidan Kerr, our decision making and shooting in the forwards let us down and at half time the scoreline of 2-5 to 1-2 didn’t fully reflect the team’s dominance. The second half followed a similar pattern with our defence well on top and the forwards working hard on and off the ball but finding scores hard to come by. Despite this, the level of performance was impressive with some of our players especially showing great skill and confidence on the ball. The result sees us qualify to play Clontibret in the final of the competition which will be played next in Inniskeen next Thursday the 20th of June. Please come out and support the lads as we look to capture our first piece of silverware for 2019.
