Monaghan Development Hurling League: Our reserve team had another great win in the Monaghan Development Hurling League last Thursday. The lads came up against East Cavan Gaels in Concra on what was a fine evening for hurling and ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 4-14 to 1-6. The strength of the panel was tested to the fullest with a lot of absentees due to exams and injuries but the team showed no ill effects and settled into their stride very quickly. The point taking ability of the lads has been a notable feature of their game during the campaign so far and last night was no different as they clocked up some excellent scores from distance, especially in the first half against a stiff breeze. The scoreline was comfortable in the end but great credit goes to East Cavan Gaels for the work they are doing to promote our great game, especially as this was their second night in a row in Castleblayney having travelled with their U7 and U9 panel for a challenge game on Wednesday evening. Team: James Carville, B Connor, P Murphy, J Deasy, Jordan Carville, J McHugh, D Irwin, F Finnegan, A Kerr, C McBride, B Rice, J Murphy, M Martin, P Malone, M Leonard. Scorers: P Malone 1-6, C McBride 1-2, M Leonard 1-0, M Martin 1-0, B Rice 0-2, D Irwin 0-1, A Kerr 0-1, J McHugh 0-1, F Finnegan 0-1
