Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto, which has now played a critical role in our club’s funding for 25 years. We ask all club members to continue to promote our Lotto as much as possible.

Lotto turns 25: We celebrate the 25th birthday of the Monaghan Harps Lotto with a party night in our clubhouse this Sunday at 9pm. We invite all supporters of our Lotto to join us on Sunday night. Please let Maria McKenna or Rose Donnelly know if you are attending.

Seniors: We are away to Cremartin in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League this Saturday at 7pm, before hosting Emyvale on Wednesday evening at 7.30. Please support!

Reserves: We exited the O’Duffy Cup championship with a preliminary-round loss at home to Aughnamullen last Saturday. A Conor Duffy goal and points from Gary White, Shane McMahon and Niall Greenan got us off to a good start, but Aughnamullen rallied to lead by 1-10 to 1-6 at half-time. Scores from Francis Lynch, Gary, Lochlainn Power and Dean Fanning kept us in touch, but Aughnamullen stayed ahead to win by 3-17 to 2-14.

Team and scorers: Dylan McAree; Jamie Shields, Aidan Burns, Niall Ward; Oisín Fagan, James McKenna, Niall McManus; John Mulligan, Lochlainn Power (0-3); Conor Duffy (1-0), Shane McMahon (0-2f), Niall Greenan (0-1); Thomas Croarkin, Gary White (0-3, 2f), Francis Lynch (1-3).

Subs: Dean Fanning (0-2, 1f) for Fagan, Conor Devlin for Shields.

We return to the Platinum Tanks Reserve Leagues next week.

Minors: With the county minors in championship action, our next game in the U-17 Football League Division One isn’t until Tuesday week, May 7. However, our U-19s are set to face Scotstown this Sunday at 2pm.

U-15: The U-15 Football Leagues continued last week. Our Division One team fell to a defeat away to a strong Carrickmacross side on Thursday, but our Division Four side fared better at home to Truagh on Friday. Little separated the sides after an evenly-matched first half, but a good team performance saw our lads pull away in the second half.

Our U-15s then competed in Emyvale’s annual tournament on Easter Monday. Our lads got through to the final, although they were unable to retain the Éamonn McElroy Cup after falling just short against Scotstown. Thanks once again to Emyvale for their hospitality.

U-13: Our U-13s are in action this Saturday, with a double-header at home to Carrickmacross: Division One at 12 noon and Division Five at 1.30.

U-11: Our U-11s played away to Clontibret last Saturday. Donaghmoyne are our next opponents in the Spring League.

U-9: We host an U-9 blitz this Saturday morning. All help welcome.

Registration: Registration fees for 2019 are now overdue but can still be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or in the clubhouse. Please note that all juvenile and adult players must be paid-up members. Fees are as follows: U-11s €20; juveniles/seniors €30; family membership €60.

Dates to remember: The 25th anniversary party for the club’s Lotto takes place this Sunday night. Darkness into Light will take place for a sixth time in Monaghan on May 11, 2019.
