St.Mellans Handball Club

Juvenile County Championships. It’s that time of year again as the juvenile county championships take centre stage, we have 6 boys playing this Saturday morning @ 10am in the Harps Complex in the U12 singles section, good luck to Daithi, Dermott, Donnacha, Luke, Myles and Patrick, for some of these boys it is their first outing into county championships, so good luck to all taking part, then next Saturday the 10th we host the U13 & U14 at 10am in St.Mellans, the U15’s are in Tydavnet on November the 24th also @ 10am, the U16’s in Bawn on the 1st of December at 10am and the U17’s will be in Corduff also on the 1st of December at 10am

Juvenile Structures.  Take note of the days and time for juvenile coaching, Monday evenings 7-8pm for boys ‘07,’08, Tuesday evenings 7-8pm boys ’05,’06, Wednesday evenings 7-8pm, Thursday evenings 7-8pm beginners ’09 and younger and after that @ 8pm girls ’08 and older, as the Mono League will soon be starting along with the GAA league there may still be some movement within some time slots.

Juvenile Blitz. The juvenile blitz that we were hoping to hold in the coming weeks has been postponed until further notice.

Mono League.  The Mono League will commence play Monday night the 5th of November so get some last minute practice in before “serve of”, registration will have to be paid when the league commences, 40 Euro fee for the year.

Coaching Course. We are holding a coaching course for the development of coaching within the club and county, this is open to anyone willing to learn a bit more about the game and the aspects of coaching our ancient code, this will take place on Saturday the 10th of November so we would ask everyone to consider attending.

Table Quiz. We have our annual Table Quiz provisionally booked to take place in St.Mellans Complex on Friday night the 16th on November, more details closer to the time.

We had a very successful U12 blitz on Saturday last with lots of great games from all competitors. This weekend we see the U12 boys county championships at the Harps starting at 10am. Players should be at the venue 20mins prior to the start time to sign in.
Training continues on Monday 6.30-7.30 for U12`s Wednesday 8-9pm for U13-U16`s

Corduff Handball Notes

Juvenile Training

Juvenile training continues to grow strong with over thirty juveniles training in four groups from 8-16 years old on Wednesday’s at 7-8pm and Friday’s  at 7-9pm.Parents will be informed of their child’s group or any changes to times by text message each week.Juvenile membership is €10 and €2 per training session.

Members Singles league

Our singles 40×20 league is into its fifth week with fifty two members in five different groups from beginner to senior levels taking part.Please contact your opponent beforehand to confirm the fixture.Make sure to text Aidan Marron or Ciarán Brennan with the results of each game in order to keep the league tables up to date.Best of luck to all taking part.

County Championship

Corduff Handball Club will hold the

U17 40×20 Monaghan County Championship on Saturday 1st of December at 10am.

County Handball Presentation night

The County Handball presentation night will be held by Corduff Handball Club this year. The event will take place in the Mountain Dew beside the alley on Friday the 23rd of November at 8:30pm.


County Notes
The county championships start Saturday morning in the Harps with the U12 boys, U13 are in St.Mellans November the 11th at 10am U15`s in Tydavnet on the 25th U16`s in Bawn on December the 1st and U17`s in Corduff on the 1st also all venues start at 10am and players should be registered with the venue official a week prior to the competition.
The County Handball presentation night will be held by Corduff Handball Club this year in the Mountain Dew beside the alley on Friday the 23rd November at 8.30pm.
