Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Round 1A

Killeevan 3-15 Corduff 2-8

Killeevan were made to work hard for their victory in Round 1A of the Junior Championship only pulling away in the last quarter in a misty Pairc Mhic Eoin, Drumhowan last Saturday the 12th of June.  The game started slowly with Killeevan’s Kevin Mc Ginn opening the scoring. Killeevan were dominant in the first quarter kicking another 4 points before Corduff got back in the game  with a Keith Mc Enaney goal and points from Wayne Kerley x 2 and a free kick from Jamie King  left Corduff 2 points ahead before Eddie Mc Ginn shot a goal to leave Killeevan a point ahead. The evergreen George Mc Kitterick got his hand to ball which ended in the net  but Corduff weren’t lying down and kicked the last two points ro leave the half time score all level  at Corduff 2-5 Killeevan 1-8.

Corduff opened well  in the 2nd half and after 10 minutes were 2 points to the good but Noel Smith sensing a shock kicked two points, one from play and another from a place ball to leave it all level with 1o minutes left on the clock at 2-8 to 1-11. Killeevan then took over and scored 2-4 in the remaining few minutes to leave 10 points in it at the end.
